Homeless
I feel like no one listens,
like no one understands.
Inside me, my heart glistens,
but no one thinks I'm grand.
They walk by as if I'm nothing,
they don't give me a thought.
They don't care, I'm just a thing,
think of my they sure ought.
But sometimes a little hand,
or a heart will bend my way.
They drop a penny in my hat,
Then they walk away.
Someday I will walk away,
from that bench that I lay down.
The sky will no longer seem so grey
I'll no longer frown.
Thanks to many little hands,
and hearts that bent my way.
The many pennies in my hat,
They always made my day.
